We lived in a rural place with just my sister and I so Barbies were such a part of our childhood. They had rock bands, dated the Hardy Boys and GI Joe, oh the memories we had. We had our share of shaved Barbies too but they don’t hang on a tree as a reminder! Thanks for the memories!

I loved Barbies and so do my girls! My husband and I went through a period where we didn’t want the girls to play with them Barbie is so…mature-looking. But we decided the kids aren’t looking at that anyway, just having fun.

I still have my Barbie and the box she came in, along with the brochure for the clothes you could buy which included a poodle skirt & several lovely outfits featuring pillbox hats. Her ponytail is in pristine condition because I never went through a hair-cutting phase and my mother told me not to pull the ponytail apart or she would have horrid hair from that point on. I believed her and complied.
