Want PR? Technorati? Visitors?

There are a lot of ways you can gain all of these! By doing simple tricks of the trade you can increase your SEO, Page Rank, Technorati rank and even get some visitors to your site!

A lot of people wanted to know how I got Pajama Mommy’s Technorati so high. Well I’m going to explain to you some simple things you can do!

1. There is a Do Follow list! Utilize it!

  • The reason why I tell you to utilize the Do Follow list is because it’s free link backs! Although the do follow supposedly came up from one for blogger only when you are directly linked on the site. So ignore the blogger sites for this tip. Comment! Comment your heart out! When you comment on WordPress sites that have do follow enabled LIKE Pajama Mommy and the Technorati and Google Bot Spiders pick it up it counts it as a link to your site!

2. Robot.TXT – Thanks to Daniel of Daily Blog Tips

  • Upon trying to figure out new tricks that I haven’t learned I went searching through Daniel’s website. I was specifically focused on SEO since I want Pajama Mommy to be on the top of the pages for all my fabulous keywords! In his article Collection of Robot.txt Files,Daniel shows some of the top bloggers and their robot.txt files. These bloggers are on the top of the charts for a lot of their keywords. Create a robot.txt file.

3. Optimize your error pages!

  • If you have the ability to customize 404 pages, use it! Do you know how many hits you are possibly missing out on? Who knows what people are searching up, and even if it is an image, it will still direct to your custom 404 page!!

4. Join Blog Carnivals!

  • Do you know why I say that? Not only do so many other people join them or post them on their website, it creates a viral effect on Technorati scores. If no one has noticed, Pajama Mommy has been joining them galore. Unfortunately I haven’t had the time to paste the carnivals on the site. I plan on doing it next round. Bog carnivals go on a lot of do follow blogs. That is the whole reason for it. Aside from awesome click throughs you can get!

5. Don’t be link stingy!

6. Reply to emails!

  • I don’t care if it is someone sucking up to you, asking you something odd. Even if it is, a no thanks reply back is good. Do you know how many readers you lose by not replying to emails?

7. Engage conversations on your blog!

  • Don’t just reply on your blog but reply on theirs too! I know I’ve been slacking because of the amount of work I’ve been doing. But I try to at least every 2 weeks sit down go through my comments list and reply to everyone whose commented on this site. Not only does it boost repeated visits, it brings a human touch to your website.

8. Get guest bloggers on your site!

  • Do you know how good it is to guest blog on someone else’s site? When I guest blogged on thesocalledme.net with my last month’s earnings telling everyone how I made $1500 in a month by doing my blogging, Pajama Mommy received a TON of hits. Not only that, but people signed up for a lot of the programs I signed up to, so I scored affiliate bonuses and new readers. I was happier than a pig in poop.

9. TURN DO FOLLOW ON YOUR SITE.

  • Although, yes, no-follow protects from spam and Google is all grr about it. Well I am sorry to say to you Google, you are not God. I refuse to allow someone who doesn’t know me tell me how to operate my site. Granted, I want to be able to be in their search engine, however not at the point where they are telling me what I can and cannot do on my own property. Do think you will let someone you don’t know come up to you and tell you how to decorate your house and that you have to take everything down since it doesn’t appeal to them? John Chow angered Google and he is no longer the #1 rank for John Chow. Funny, huh? Well I am a Yahoo! fan. And I think there are more of us than there are works at Google? In a fight who, would win? ]:} (my evil face)

  8. The older the website is, the more people linking to it and the more use of the words is really good for that. Your site is not a domain so I’ve heard of some instances for it to be harder with a non-domain name to be #1 for a search term. However spot #5 is not bad for your term.

  9. do you get a lot of spam comments with Do Follow?

  10. Um I have gotten more spam but the fact of the matter is, my akismet works perfectly.

  34. Hi Pajama Mommy Community, i just want to add that you have missed one most important seo, you have to pay attention as well to your dynamic permalink, That’s the most basic SEO need not to be ignored. Although i dont recommend for you to change your permalink at this point because i think you have many posts, as this will create lots of duplicate contents but this can be fix through your robots.txt, only this will be a lot of work as you have to lists all of your old permalinks need to be restricted in the robots.txt.

  35. yea nice Work :D
