The economy is nosediving and everyone’s going crazy with this past election, prices, upcoming things in life – the list is endless. This is the exact reason your Christmas holiday list should not be endless. Have you every heard the expression, “All you have is all you need?” Well, this year may be THE year to truly embrace the principles of love, health, family, friends and to keeping it simple. If it’s making you go nuts, then you’re doing it to yourself and stop it now.
It’s time to downsize and cut the spending, trim the fat. You really don’t have to buy for everybody you know. If the people on your shopping list are folks you’ve “gotta” buy something for, then you’ve totally missed the whole reason for the holiday season – be it Chanukkah, Yule, or Christmas. Buy for those you love and who certainly have had a positive impact in your life, but be reasonable. Sending a heartfelt card (not electronically) is still a wonderful way to show appreciation. Really? Cuz I thought the economy would get better if we spent money.. I mean, don’t put yourself into debt over it, but I definitely thinkg America needs more light hearted attitudes to make it through this hard time. It’s the season to give..
My kids aren’t getting many presents from me this year because I just can’t afford it. But we’re each getting eachother a gift and there’s no spending limit on that one gift (within reason, I’m not getting my husband a new car – but I did get him a Bowflex). I like it better this way and I’m glad my kids are old enough that it’s not about the opening gifts anymore.

Stimulating the economy was not my intention for this article; the intention was peace.
