Speakaoo’s
One of my toddler’s favorite websites is Speakaboos, a fun and educational website for children. Speakboos is an online children’s website featuring favorite hits/characters and storybook classics- all read by celebrities (i.e. Kelly Ripa, Nick Cannon and Kevin Bacon to name a few). You can currently choose from six genres: Fables, Fairy Tales, Folk Tales, Nursery Rhymes, Favorites and Lullabies. My son’s current favorite song is “Old McDonald Had A Farm” with Nick Cannon.
Speakaboos inspiration came from the creator, Noelle Milholt, who wanted to bring the art of storytelling back to life by combining the traditional reading experience with technology, entertainment and eduction. Children, like my son, enjoy using this website and together, we can participate in educational activities, games and contests. We also love the idea of their “Record Your Own” function, which will be releasing soon- where we can record our voices reading or singing a favorite story, song or nursery rhyme.
Speakaboos offers children the opportunity to learn literacy skills and about in the internet in a safe environment. They partner with premier education organizations such as the National Education Association and The Creative Coalition, and contributes 15% of all revenues in return for distribution and promotion to over 3 million teachers and administrators.
