Sister Schubert’s Homemade Rolls
My family and I had the gastronomical pleasure this Thanksgiving of devouring Sister Schubert’s Homemade Rolls during our meal. And devour we did. But you are probably wondering who exactly is Sister Schubert? I asked the same question when given this assignment, so here is a little background, taken from the website:
. . . a friend asked me to donate a few pans of rolls to our church’s holiday frozen food fair. I sold 20 pans, and they put the rolls on the order form for the following year’s sale. I had to cut off orders at 200 pans that year, and at 300 pans in 1991.
I sat down after that third holiday fair and said to myself,” If the people in Troy like my rolls, maybe other folks will too – and not just at the holidays.” And Sister Schubert’s Homemade Rolls was born.
I gotta tell you, these rolls are truly divine and I’m not kidding! You preheat your oven, place them in for a few minutes and you have delicious rolls for your family. You can even microwave them. Folks, you honestly can’t go wrong with this stuff. There are several different products, recipes, etc., on Sister Schubert’s website. In addition, you can type in your zip code to see which store carries them near you. Although I can’t say who or where, there is a large grocery store chain that sells them near me. If they didn’t I would definitely buy them online – they are that good.
But don’t stop at just dinner rolls, Sister Schubert has a whole line of stuff you can check out. We had a “quick” brunch and just stood around eating the cinnamon rolls with coffee and tea. Out of this world!

It’s kind of funny that they name them ‘home made’ and then package them and sell them. I’m really getting into the ‘do it yourself’ stuff lately, including startng to make foods from scratch instead of out of the box. At least that way you know exactly what’s in it (and it’s not extra fat to try and keep it from going bad).
Rolls are probably one of the best inventions of mankind. I haven’t tried these, I am usually a Rhodes man, but your post makes me want to get some. They are going on my list of things to get. Thanks!
