Must Have SEO WordPress Plugins + Search Engine Results
Pajama Mommy receives a lot of visitors through search engine results now this is where a lot of my own personal expertise comes in. I have scoured the web for the top of the line SEO plugins so I do not have to manually edit every single entry for top SEO. Granted, I could be doing more. In fact I intend on doing more and really going to the extremes to optimize the over 450 articles we have so we can maximize exposure. You should be doing this too so I am going to give you some really good insider tips that most people wouldn’t share!
Pajama Mommy receives almost 10,000 visitors a month just from search engine results alone. This isn’t just Google. For those who focus on Google only you are losing a lot of really great exposure on other search engines. You may not be #1 on Google for that obscure but on Windows Live you could be #1 so definitely do your research.
Pajama Mommy has a great variety of articles being we have so many different topics so here are the current top searches through all my tracking programs:
1. Chicken Noodle Soup Recipe
2. Meatball Recipe
3. Mommy
4. Unique Baby Names
5. Chicken Noodle Soup Recipes
6. Best Meatballs
7. No Sew Blankets
8. Toeless Socks
9. Make Your Own Logo
10. Pajama Mommy
11. Recipe for Meatballs
12. Best Meatball Recipe
13. Evenflo Triumph Advance
14. New Rules of Lifting for Women
15. Luna Pads Promo Code
Top Referring Domains:
1. Google
2. Stumble Upon
3. Revolution Theme
4. search.msn.com
5. images.google.com
6. search.live.com
7. search.yahoo.com
Currently this month I’ve received: 3,296 visitors from Google search and 1714 from Google Images. What have you received? If you haven’t received near our numbers and you have 450 posts on a variety of topics you aren’t SEO optimized and you have some work to do!
Windows Live I received 1,267 which quite frankly isn’t a bad number at all. I am thrilled with that number because I have focused on optimizing this entire site I am glad to see the other search engine companies picking up upon the work I’ve been doing.
MSN Search: 741
Yahoo!: 419
AOL: 118
As you can see from these results we have a wide variety of search engines we receive results from are you monitoring these results? I use 2 programs Aw_Stats and Slimstat. I have found Google Analytics to be entirely UNRELIABLE. where my own SERVER counter is telling me I received X amount of hits Analytics is telling me that I received 1/3 of that. Which isn’t reliable counting. So make sure you’re looking around and checking your reliability of your tracking program. So on to the goodies you want to know what we use to promote this site well here it is! I haven’t left ANY plugin out!
1. All in one SEO Plugin -Rating:

– This is a good plugin you can optimize every single one of your posts. The reason why it gets a 4/5 instead of a full 5/5 is because the designer I have found inconveniences people who use this plugin to maintain the top position on the WordPress download by updating what feels like every week. One month I literally updated this plugin what had to be almost 15 times. Unfortunately the designer has a very good plugin so you can’t get out of updating it since it really does work.
2. Google XML SiteMap Generator – Rating:

– The stat program on this is absolutely amazing to a degree. The site map rebuilds itself every so often for the most updated version to be relesed to Google. It notifies Google, Yahoo!, Ask, and MSN. However I have found that I receive very little from ASK so as for boosting the smaller search engines such as Yahoo! and Ask, I don’t receive the traffic I wish I could. Since those may not be as large as Google but they do get very good traffic.
3. Improved Meta Description Snippets – Rating:

I haven’t noticed any significant increase in traffic since implementing this. I have to do more research but I do believe meta is very important to any website owner.
4. KB Robots.TXT – Rating:

- If you don’t know about Robot.txt its a really important tool to tell all webcrawlers to crawl your entire site. I allow every single crawler to crawl the website. I noticied a SIGNIFICANT traffic increase and RANKING increase. I installed this after I was slapped on the wrist by Google and shortly after I did get bumped back up in Google Ranking so this is a very important tool. The downside is you will get more spam because of the crawlers but it is inevitable.
5. Max Blog Press Ping Optimizer – Rating:

– This is a tricky plugin, I haven’t noticed anything significant after installation, however I do like the fact that it does notify everything when we update Pajama Mommy. You cannot over use this or you will get banned from the servers so I have it update on its own since I obviously don’t want to be banned.
6. Meta Robots WordPress Plugin – Rating:

– This isn’t a bad plugin. It allows you to pick and choose where to send your spiders and alter your htaccess right in the plugin. I enjoy it for its ability to make sure the spiders crawl everything. I live everything unchecked and monitor the HTACCESS. I also like the fact that being the htaccess is available any spammer ip addresses who frequently spam I can ban right from my dashboard.
7. SEO Slugs – Rating:

– It does what it has too. Its good for maximizing SEO optimization by crawlers who pick up the URLS in your post. This removes all unnecessary words to maximize exposure in Search Engines.
8. SEO Title Tag Plugin – Rating:

– This is an okay plugin I utilize it where I can but I have found optimizing the post titles by forward thinking and making sure I put what I want in the title even if it is an extra long title works a bit better.
9. SEO_WordPress Plugin Rating:

– This plugin prevents duplicate content from being crawled. I haven’t found a good use for it yet but I installed it just to be safe.

I think the SEO title tag plugin is included in ALL IN ONE SEO. So I don’t use both. I just use one.
So the All in one SEO plugin does the job? I didn’t notice any change when I used it before, but maybe I should try it again…
I cover my basis since it works and I do receive some of the highest results among my friends
I had set up the All in One SEO plugin when I found Headspace2, which I like better. You can noindex/nofollow any pages/posts separately or globally, which would allow for eliminating indexing of duplicate content. You could cut down from 3 plugins (All in One SEO, SEO Title Tag Plugin, SEO_WordPress Plugin) to one.
Ya know, Google Analytics doesn’t count visitors that have javascript disabled, hence the HUGE difference in numbers.

Also the last plugin SEO_WordPress or whatever, I have a plugin that does the same thing and it works nicely.

You have achieved an enormous result out of these plugins. If they can really work so good then I am don’t think we need to invest so much on various SEO services. Now on I am going to try these combinations of plugins. Thanks a lot for sharing your views.
