Paw Prints Pound Puppies Toy + DVD

July 22nd, 2008 · by Head Mommy · Toys · No Comments

I was so excited when I received this product in the mail. I loved watching the pound puppies as a child and I know all of my nieces and nephews will love it as well.

Each puppy includes an original cartoon special DVD. The toy itself is adorable, and amazingly soft. The age reference on this toy is 3 yrs + because of possible choking hazards such as the eyes, nose and tag.

The tag included on the dog gives you the ability to write the name of the dog in case it is lost or stolen, like a real dog tag.

Each puppy also comes with an adoption certificate, which I think is absolutely adorable. You can play with the dog and other dogs at www.poundpuppies.com. There were approximately a dozen dogs your child can adopt and you will have fun adopting them. Think about its the reliving ones youth through something I could understand unlike these webkins these days. I had absolutely no clue what they were until my sister in law showed me, apparently she even plays them!

Well This one I could play myself as per I actually know something about the pound puppies and it doesn’t make me feel ridiculously old at my young age when these kids are freaking out over a toy I just never even heard of! I’m going to collect a few for my nieces and nephews so they can enjoy something I actually know about!

InGrid Safety of Mind. Safety of the Home.

July 22nd, 2008 · by Head Mommy · Household Items · No Comments

I had the great opportunity to review an easy to install home security system recently. I absolutely loved it. This system is perfect for business owners to home owners.

Your security system is similar to Vonage where it is connected to a high-speed internet connection. You receive a telephone, a base unit, sensors, grid extenders, and a key chain remote. They have built in redundant systems in those incidents where the internet does go out.

Let me tell you it was super easy to install. I cannot stress that point enough. You didn’t have to worry about walking in the door and only having a few seconds to disarm the alarm. They offer so many better options and you get notifications sent to your email letting you know when people are coming and going throughout the day or night.

This is a great monitoring system for small businesses (tracking foot traffic during the day, and suspicious behavior at night.) The best way to tell which system is best for you in checking out the comparasion chart. I love reading these since I like to know what I am missing from this place or that.

I live in a pretty decent neighborhood but there is always that chance, and with the new baby on the way even though I have a basement apartment I still want to feel safe if I have a baby-sitter or when the wee one gets older and can watch his or herself. I just want to make sure i know whats going on when I am not around. Granted you could get one of those teddy cams but they have limited visibility. With InGrid you may not exactly see whats going on in your house but you do know when people are coming and going, and being able to arm it from a keychain or a computer from overseas. You don’t have to worry about the “Did I live the oven on?” syndrome we all get when we’re traveling.

The best part of InGrid is the simple fact that they are always striving for new and improved systems. They are working for cellular redundancy, and video alarm verification.

Now you may be wondering….This sounds all to good, so how many limbs do I have to chop off to afford this system? Well it all depends on how you set it up. You can buy the home kit and work month to month but the kit is a little more expensive that way. ($399.99). The monthly amount for their monitoring services is $29.99.

Now you can still get notifications without their contract but you won’t have a team of professionals on the other end ready to notify the fire department, or the police. So I definitely think getting the contract is not only better financially (it brings down the home kit by $100) but you also feel safer.

I definitely love it and recommend it to my friends and families. You should too! Check it out today InGrid Home Security Systems.

Baby Belle Carrier

I had the pleasure of getting one of these Baby Belle Carriers and I have to say they were worth every penny. I mean to the point where you know you’re getting quality when you find out some of the hottest celebrities are using these to carry around their bundles of joy.

The carrier comes in a variety of colors which I love the one I received which is the orange blossom which you can see in the top right corner of the picture.

The retail price of this are $99.95 and they truly are worth every penny. The way the baby sits and how they set it up allows for even weight distribution and less stress placed on your back.

When Fil’s brother’s fiance (yes that is a mouthful) found out she was pregnant with her 2nd child. I got together a gift basket for her to make her life a little easier. Of course I waited til the safe marker to give it since I did not want to jinx anything. I included this number and she absolutely loved it. The material is soft and she can’t wait to use it!

I have to say a lot more retailers are picking up on it too. I’m surprised one of the bourgeoisie stores of the Hampton’s haven’t picked it up yet! However, this is the perfect gift for yourself or for a pregnant friend!

Shea Radiance magnificent shea body butter!

There is a lot to say when you get good products. You know how much I love the all natural small start ups products since when you get in on the beginning before they go huge you not only can make suggestions which will help the product (since everyone wants to perfect their product) in this case for example its true. The owner is such a sweetheart and when I was sent the pomegranate body butter I had an issue where the product was for me a little to slick. So I sent her an email and informed her that my own personal preference would be for something that wouldn’t be as oily as the product. To which she understood and is looking into a lighter oil based product. I definitely loved that. Since she definitely listened which is remarkable. Her products are great I used them after the shower and the scent mixed so well with my body scrub, and it wasn’t a strong scent but the scent would last for hours.

That was my absolute favorite thing about it. Whats even better is my Grandmother loved it. So when I ran out she bought herself a new tub of it, unfortunately her product was mislabeled so she was sent a different scent which was handled with such graciousness, kindness and with such great communication that exchanging the product was so easy!

So I really experienced it all with this company and I have to say even the mix up was nothing and I absolutely love their company. I will be buying a new tub for myself! You should buy it too. We can have a buying party ;) www.shearadiance.com

Airdrives for Kids

July 22nd, 2008 · by Head Mommy · Electronics · No Comments

Have you ever been annoyed by talking to your children or even significant other because their music is so loud or their earphones are all the way in their ears? Heck, I get annoyed because I have very small ears and NO headphones work on my ears. Well now I found the perfect thing. Whats sad for me is the small AirDrives for kids was perfect for my ears (they are only about 2 inches at the tallest height..my ears that is)

You wont have to worry about hearing damage with these since instead of playing them exceptionally loud in the ear it lays over the ear and delivers a richer more natural sound, which is best for all day listening.

They are available at all major retail stores and are absolutely worth every penny. My fiance lives a very active lifestyle and these were perfect for him. He has a smaller sized head and has to wear a “doo-rag” to hold all his headphones in. These had a better grip so when he goes street skating they are less likely to fall off his ears than any others we have purchased in the past. Let me tell you, I have purchased a lot! Now you can learn all about the technology at www.airdrives.com the kids version go for $49.99 however through Amazon.com you’re able to get them for only $34.48 that is definitely a great savings..and trust me it is worth every penny!

PS3 Eye of Judgement

July 22nd, 2008 · by Head Mommy · Electronics · No Comments

The Eye of Judgement which is a video game created for the PS3 is about strategy. If your kids are older and you went through the Yu-Gi-Oh! or Magic the Gathering phase then you will completely understand.

You will need the Ps3 Eye Toy and a deck of game cards and the playing base. Now for $65.99 Amazon’s product sells all of it. However you can get yours at the local store. The game itself is fun and it gets addicting rather quickly. Since if you play through your cards like we did you will never know the outcome of the game, and it is all about strategy and learning to read the other opponent and trying to predict their next move.

The game is very innovative and makes you actually enjoy the ps3. As where other wise the system itself falls to a 3 out of 5. As in both times we’ve owned it, it collected dust and was mainly used as a Blu-Ray DVD player.

This game is fun but in the end its over-all expensive. Be warned you will continuously need to buy more and more cards and they aren’t cheap. They cost $3.99 for about 8 cards. They only sell the booster pack with the game but you can get another one on Amazon for $115. So in the end it will cost you an arm and a leg and you will be buying more often than not the same cards they already have just to get those 1-2 cards they don’t have.

The game in itself does have a long way to go, the camera is picky and wont pick up so you will spend 4-5 minutes just trying to get it to register the cards on the map, along with trying to cast spells and offering monsters to the eye to gain more mana. But once you get into a groove with the eye where it picks up more often than not you can play without any issues. Taking the game online is fun since Fil (28 yrs old) had his butt kicked virtually by a 10 year old kid. So kids are good at it and adults..well we eventually will catch up to the kids one of these days!

Perdue Perfect Portions

July 22nd, 2008 · by Head Mommy · Food & Beverage · No Comments

perdue.jpgThese new Purdue Chicken Perfect Portions are great. Browsing my cupboards I came up with this recipe combining some Old Bay Seasoning with the flour. Then, I substituted matzo meal for the traditional breadcrumbs and grated cheese. What a great idea it was! Another dinner gobbled with no leftovers!

6 (or more) thin chicken breasts, sliced/pounded thin
2 Tbs. butter
3 Tbsp. olive oil (extra virgin is best)
3/4 cup flour
1 tsp. kosher salt
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
2 eggs
2 Tbs. water
3/4 cup matzo meal (this worked better than bread crumbs!)
2 Tbs. Old Bay Seasoning

Place the oil and butter in a large non-stick frying pan and turn heat to medium-high. Meanwhile, open each Perfect Portion pack to rinse and pat dry; place on a plate.

On 3 separate plates do the following:

  • Mix flour, salt & pepper on 1st plate;
  • Whisk the 2 eggs and water on 2nd plate;
  • Finally, mix matzo meal and Old Bay Seasoning on 3rd plate. Line them up in that order across your counter next to the stove - it’s easier this way.

With a fork, pierce and pick-up one of the cutlets, dredge in the flour mixture on both sides - gently pat; then dip in the egg mixture coating both sides; finally, dredge in the matzo meal/Old Bay mix and press down gently on both sides to make sure it’s coated well. Do this with about 3-4 cutlets or as many will fit in the pan at a time.

Place in the the pan and cook on medium-high for about 5-6 minutes on each side - we like them crispy. If you make a couple of batches, you will want to add more butter and oil.

The Instead Softcup

July 22nd, 2008 · by Head Mommy · Womens Misc · No Comments

I am always on the lookout for menstrual products that make a woman’s time of the month a little easier and a little more natural, without the fear of Toxic Shock Syndrome, synthetic fibers and bleached cotton.

Most of what is used in traditional menstrual products are not good for a woman’s body and have been known to cause serious illness as well as other ailments that companies try to brainwash women into buying anyway, in hopes that women do not catch on to what they are really putting against and in their bodies. These large companies, use attractive wrapping and what they refer to as “advanced technology” to brainwash women into buying and using their products, hoping that they simply do not catch on to what really goes into these products.

I have reviewed other menstrual products here before and have recently come across a new product for those who are also looking for alternatives to the traditional pads and tampons.

Instead Softcup The Instead Softcup is a product that I most definitely should have come across earlier. It is an FDA-approved, disposable menstrual product that is worn completely internally and holds your menstrual flow for up to 12 hours—twice as long as you can keep a tampon in! It is, just as the name suggests, a soft cup with a flexible, circular rim that when compressed for insertion, is about the same size as a tampon. It is non-absorbent and does not irritate your skin; it is a one-size fit for nearly all women and it also contains absolutely no latex.

The Instead Softcup is completely comfortable to wear and is also safe—never being linked to Toxic Shock Syndrome. Another great benefit of the Softcup is that there is no menstrual odor because the cup is worn internally, your flow does not come in contact with air. Some other great benefits of this product are that the Softcup allows for “clean sex” because of it’s unique design and some women have even said that it is an effective method for conceiving, because the Softcup keeps all fluids close to the cervix, so this is a product that is definitely worth looking into not just for menstrual reasons, but if you’ve had trouble conceiving in the past.

The cup, while a little tricky to insert at first, is one of the most innovative menstrual products I have seen. The benefits of using the Softcup are immense and after you get the hang of inserting the cup, it’s smooth sailing.

The Instead Softcup has sold more than 100 million units since 1996, when it was introduced and can be found at your local Target, Walgreens, CVS, Wal-Mart and Rite-Aid, among others.

If you’re looking for other resources about the Instead Softcup, as well as some more information on insertion, check out Angela Shelton’s video on the product as well as some positive self-loving affirmations!

Klean - Peppermint PattyPedi

March 25th, 2008 · by Head Mommy · Beauty Items · 1 Comment

klean peppermint pediI was excited when I received Klean’s Bath and Body Peppermint Patty Pedi Kit. I asked Fil if I could give him a pedicure..he needed one and I wanted to test it out. His feet aren’t badly off to begin with a little scratchy but not bad at all! So I warmed up some water while he played his video game. I looked over the list, and I washed his feet first and let them soak to get nice and soft. I then used the chocolate foot scrub. It was good except the chocolate wasn’t the best smelling chocolate. However it was very authentic dark chocolate smell. I then scrubbed his foot and used the pumice stone. This was the best part, since the first foot he was laughing but his other foot was far more ticklish. I couldn’t stop laughing, it literally hurt. It was one of the most fun times I had! So after wards I placed my favorite piece in the whole set on his feet, the peppermint Shea butter. I have to say the smell was a big woah, but the product itself was beautiful. I loved it and used it on my hands. My second favorite thing in the package was the linen/body spray. It was great, I received compliments at Blockbuster from a complete stranger. I will have to email them and find out which scent it is (I’m to lazy to get up right now LOL) so I can make sure to buy a bottle! It is absolutely perfect! The socks were nice but any regular socks will due. After I washed them I currently can only find one now :( so I just use my regular socks!
