MushyGushy Email Cards
Prior to receiving this email I was contacted by the owner asking me about partnerships, so I went to investigate the site. It was actually pretty awesome. It is that new “breed” which allows you to be the star of your own creation. It is amazing being able to cut and paste your head into an animation. Heck, even if you don’t send the card to anyone but yourself its hilarious to watch!
They have an awesome little flash image that’s a brief welcome and tutorial all in one, but they have a full tutorial available if you aren’t instantly savvy. I tried doing it without the tutorial to test out how easy it was. It actually was pretty simple. I don’t have a picture of myself on this computer, so I used the logo created for Pajama Mommy as the base of the head. I increased the size to line up with the eyes, nose and mouth, and expanded it to include some hair, so she wasn’t bald. Then I put my love into the card and sent it off to Fil.
I sent it to his phone, since he is online but playing his video game. Hopefully it’ll go through well on a Sidekick. Their site also includes a blog where you can find out more about the Mushy Gushy People, I pulled the image off of their site, since I wanted some sort of logo, except they used all flash and you cant drop a picture from flash.
I also wanted to note I did enjoy the fact that I received an email confirmation that they sent the card. I showed this my friends, who all noted how cute it was. There was cuteness and humor in the card, which I enjoyed and I thought it represented me a little more than the straight forward I love you cards you find on other sites.
