Habibi: Amazing Products

I was excited when Gretchen Keene of Gretchen Keene PR told me about her client, Habibi. I had to go see for myself since I am always looking for all natural face products that I can pronounce everything in them plus work on very fair very sensitive skin. As I get older my face is no longer how it used to be, where I can put anything on it and nothing would penetrate the skin causing break outs. So I am stuck with various breakouts every now and then and nothing to do. I refuse to go back to my dermatologist since he gave me this cream product for my face which had a side effect of FATALITY. I wouldn’t say thats a side effect more of a after effect so I tossed that and have been trying to find things to work on my skin ever since.

So I am always looking for facial products I can either give the boot too, aka cross off my list, or rave about. This is one I am going to rave about. I received 3 sample products in the mail from Habibi: Shampoo, Facial Mask, Body Balm. I was hesitant about shampoo since some of the other products I’ve received in the mail recently that were all natural really dried out my hair and I had to use 3x’s the normal amount of conditioner just to untangle the mess. But, since I’d rather deal with it than have someone else I tried it anyways. I was sent a full size sample of the Hair & Body Shampoo in the scent of Fresh Milk. $19.99, normally for designer products I spend upwards of $40 dollars on shampoo until I switched to an over the counter brand that didn’t make my head itch. I am generally allergic to most of the over the counter shampoo’s so I was happy to say that this shampoo didn’t give me any type of allergic reaction. The only thing I have to say negative about the product was it came out a little glumpy (yes I made up a word just for this review.) I don’t know how else to describe it. Normally they come out in more of a cream, this one was globby. But since it lathered up well it really didn’t bother me. However, the owner of the product informed me that

“The unique properties of all Habibi products means that they must be treated as
‘alive.’ That means, they are sensitive to extreme conditions regarding heat,
cooling, or general misuse…Customer Service is THE most important job for the team at HABIBI. Any and all inquiries are welcome, and most exchanges(within reason) are honored.”

I would have assumed to add water but I didn’t know with the ingredients if that would defeat the purpose. I do not like to recommend “thinning” out a shampoo without explicit instructions by the owner of the product. As you know I don’t want to tell you something and then it just ruins the product bleh. But on the really up and up I was complimented by my mother when I aired dried my hair out the window, on the smell of my hair.

Now seeing as I have very sensitive skin, I am hesitant when it comes to face masks or scrubs since I usually turn bright red, my skin burns and then I break out. Oh yes I get the triple fun action afterwards. However this was not the case with Habibi’s Peppermint and Oatmeal scrub ($17.99). The scrub cleaned out my pores which caused whatever pimples to rise and then quickly disappear within days. The 2nd time I used it most of the breakout I had faded away within 24 hours to a nice, smooth skin. It also is the only face mask that still had the grainy feeling on my nose to remove any blackheads and dead skin. A tip for potential buyers: Put a little bit of water on your face and finger tips when using this product. Without it , it is thick and hard to spread. The oatmeal worked well. My downfall on this product: the peppermint smell was very strong so I was very nervous at first since normally strongly scented items don’t work well on my fair skin. However, I still trudged along and it didn’t have any effect. So I won’t be judging a book by its cover, or I should say strong scent next time around.

The third product I received was the Zen Body Balm ($24.99 approx). This is a brand new line of Asian scents. It isn’t out on the page yet, so I was excited to be one of the first people to try it! I was hoping to get either the pomegranate or the honey, as they are two of my favourite scents. At first a little saddened I opened up the bottle and was delighted with this faint scented balm was amazing. I truly enjoyed it. Most body moisturizers are either too hard, or too soft. I either have trouble getting any or get too much. I only have little fingers so I don’t want more than I can use. I was delighted to see this firm balm was still soft and pulled just enough for me to spread evenly and move onto the next part without having to grab a napkin to wipe the excess off. I used it in this mornings shower, to be asked by my grandmother “What perfume are you wearing? It is beautiful.” I told her its the body balm, and she should try it. My grandmother who has been trying desperately to find a product like that has wasted a couple of hundred dollars, when Habibi should have been our first choice all along. The scent isn’t strong and it seems to be made for sensitive skin like ours. Check out the ingredients:

Organic Shea Butter, Shea Oil, Organic Mango Butter, Organic Grapeseed Oil, Avocado Oil, Organic Raw Honey, Jasmine Tea Extract, Green Tea Hydrosol, Jasmine Petal Oil, Sesame Oil, Vitamin E.

I can pronounce everything in it. Which means it is perfect for me. I can buy most of that at any organic store, or online. So in essence I can make up my own. However, I wont since I’m assuming the creator is far more skilled at making less of a mess than I am.

This items got my seal of approval, and when I run out you bet your sweet bottom I will be going back for more! Plus check out their lip balm it is only $2!!

  3. What I love the most about Habibi other than it’s natural ingredients and yummy scents is it’s owner. She gives the best customer service and really seems to care about her clients needs. She’s all about customer satisfaction.

  4. Definitely I practically had to beg her to let me keep my original bottle and have me purchase any future products! There was nothing wrong with the product that a little water couldn’t take care of!

  5. The lip balm is awesome! So is everything else. I love that I can use Habibi from my head to my toes.

  10. I love Habibi products! Unlike other beauty products the smell lasts all day and I love that it’s made out of natural products so they are great for my sensitive skin.

  11. Any reason why the product name is called Habibi? It means “my love” in Arabic. :-)

  12. I do not know! I also looked at the about page and there wasn’t anything about it! Maybe it is some type of family term, the owner may speak it fluently or thought the term was perfect for an organic product. I adore the name!

  13. Thanks for the detail info about this amazing product from Habibi, Are You sure the Lip Balm only $2?Wow really cheap.

  14. Yep the shipping and handling is like 5.95 or something so I would probably buy justr a couple of them so you’re spending more on the product than you are on the shipping and handling!

  15. The name HABIBI (meaning: my love) was chosen to represent love and care of oneself. The Habibi philosophy is that if you invest in your body with natural body care, it will return your investment with healthy, glowing skin. Take care of it, and it will take care of you.

    Hope this helps! ;-)

  16. I’ve never heard of Habibi but from the description in your post, I will be checking it out.

  17. I have been a very happy customer of Habibi proucts for over a year and half now (Honeysuckle being my favorite) and it is all I have used since I accidently stumbled upon it. 18. That sounds great. My fiance was mentioning last night how he loved how the body balm really softened my skin up a lot! I want to get the honey one. I think I’ve comprised a list for my order of

    3 lipbalms
    1 pomegranate body balm
    1 honey body balm
    1 facial moisturizer

I’ll wait and hint enough to Fil so he’ll buy it for me teehhehe

  19. Habibi: Amazing Body Products

A review one a wonderful product line called Habibi

  20. I ordered the oatmeal peppermint moisturizer which was amazing. the scent was a little strong but I LOVE the product. However they say Habibi products are sold at Burke Williams Spa but Burke Williams claims they have never heard of the product. i find that strange and I have never received a reply from Habibi when I contacted them on their website. I wish they had better customer service!
