First of all, BEN 10 Galactic Racing is available on the Wii, PS3, XBox360, and Nintendo DS, so everyone can enjoy it.

We had a blast racing through the different tracks available. My daughter enjoyed playing as Ben the most because he can change into one of ten aliens at any given moment. There are other characters to play as well, but she got pretty stuck on Ben.

Just like some of our other favorite “kart” games, BEN 10 Galactic Racing has power ups that boost your offensive play as well as others to set back your opponents. It is a lot of fun, even when your daughter kicks your butt.

Barbie Jet, Set, and Style is a video game that allows young girls to travel to ten different international cities where they create hair styles, provide manicures and makeovers, and mix/match wardrobes for their clients. Along the way, girls will gain the experience they need to style for Barbie herself, at her ultimate Global Glam Fashion Show.

We were able to review the Barbie Jet, Set, and Style game on the Wii console. I have a toddler who is only two years old, so I had to use the remote and play the game, but she enjoyed watching and participating. The remote was easy to use while accessorizing and styling hair. The actual video game was fun and easy to play. Children are able to cut, color, and style hair, which was my daughter’s favorite part. Once your “client” is complete, you can see the girl from every angle so you can see all the hard work (and beauty) you completed.

My daughter is almost two years old and she works the Wii remote pretty well. The wonderful thing about playing the “Ready, Set, Grover” game is you only have to use one button, the “2″ button on the remote. Throughout the game your child just turns the remote right to left to play while holding it sideways. She has some time to learn the buttons and the game, so over the weekend I played the game with her. Parents also have the ability to use a second Wii remote to assist their child when needed.

With my child being a few months shy of two years old, I believe the age recommendation is perfect. She was able to play along and we were able to teach her habits- such as eating healthy meals. My daughter’s favorite game was “Feeding the Monsters.” During this game, you turn the remote left to right to get food in the Monster’s mouth. After the food enters the Monster’s mouth, it will describe the food, the vitamins, and what it does for your body.

At the age of two, children are more willing to participate in good habits such as brushing teeth, washing hands, eating healthy, exercising, and so much more. “Ready, Set, Grover” is the perfect way to teach your child good habits because they get to see their favorite characters doing them. Sometimes, parents need to turn to television or video games to reinforce good habits in their household. Trying to get a three year old to eat their greens, or brush their teeth after meals is a task, but letting them see that “Elmo does it!” can make it easier (on child & parent!).

Nintendo, definitely not just for kids anymore!

If you’ve ever wished for a little more creative spark in your life, you’re not alone. A new survey conducted by Wakefield Research for Nintendo indicates that 81 percent of adults wish they were more creative. While making time for creative pursuits can be difficult for working adults and students alike, Nintendo has offered a unique solution with the recent launch of the Art Academy^™, software for the Nintendo DS^™ family of hand-held systems. This new portable software offers a fun, convenient way for people from all walks of life to satisfy their creative appetites, featuring fun and interactive drawing and painting lessons that can be applied to real-world art materials and a Free Paint mode that lets you create art whenever inspiration strikes.

It’s no secret that creativity enhances the human experience. The findings of the Wakefield study point not only to the strength of people’s creative impulses but also to the value they place on creativity in the world at-large. Nearly 80 percent of respondents believe that creativity is one of the rarest skills in the workplace, while more than two-thirds of surveyed parents said they would rather have their children be creative than athletic.

“People clearly share a desire for more creative inspiration,” said Marc Franklin, Nintendo of America’s director of Public Relations. “We were surprised to learn that nearly one in four people feel bored or frustrated because they don’t have a creative outlet. Art Academy includes lessons and a Free Paint mode that can help fill that void by providing a daily creative outlet for people, whether they use the software at home or on the go.”

In addition to a strong craving for creative activity, participants in the Wakefield survey expressed concerns about arts education. Sixty percent of parents agreed that there is not enough focus on art activities in their children’s schools. The portable art lessons in Art Academy are one option parents can consider for giving their kids a regular creative outlet outside the classroom. Whether they’re learning to draw a pear or paint the ocean, users can follow basic tutorials on topics such as color, shading and composition. They can alsoexplore the possibilities of Free Paint mode, which lets them draw whatever comes to mind.

These results were drawn from data that was collected by Wakefield Research via e-mail and an online survey. Two population samples were used for the study, one consisting of 1,000 American adults ages 18 and older and another consisting of 400 mothers. Polling was conducted Oct. 22-29, 2010.

Party On! The hit Game party series brings a full motion party for players of all ages and abilities exclusively to Kinect for Xbox 360.  Game Party in Motion features 16 games and several game variations for an immersive and intuitive pick-up-and-play experience for people of all abilities!  It lets players engage in true-to-life motions, using their whole bodies to mimic the actions and gestures of real-life activities.  Players will need to make a throwing motion to hit targets and a football while quickly stepping left and right to avoid getting tackled or rush from table to table serving root beer to thirsty customers. I was able to try this with my family, when I was sent the review copy to test out.  We had so much fun and laughed all night long.  Our most favorite game to play as a group is Darts.  It beats having to go to the pub to play and the kids can join us and we can all play together.  Other games include: Billiards, Root Beer Tapper, Table Hockey(another favorite!) and many more. I loved the fact that I was able to play at my own pace and still keep up with the young people.  Now we have a game I can play with either my 10 year old grandson or my 17 year old granddaughter.  What a blast!

Nat Geo Challenge! Wild Life is available for Wii, Playstation 3, and XBox 360. There are over 5,000 questions and 90 minutes of National Geographic quality video as well as 2,000 gorgeous scenes to behold! You can play as an individual or with up to four people.

There are four different categories: Predators vs. Prey, Aquatic Life, Amazing Planet, and Dangerous Encounters. There are several different ways the questions are presented. There is multiple choice, True/False, anagrams, observation, and memory among several others. It is constantly changing and challenging you to think on your feet.

Nat Geo Challenge! Wild Life is a lot of fun! Sure, my husband and my best friend both beat me. They beat me hard to be completely truthful. Who knew my husband knew so much about aquatic wild life? But I still enjoy it because I will get better at it! Plus, I am learning a lot while playing a truly fun game.

The Nintendo Wii remote slips into the back of the baby doll while you still control the nunchuck. There are several mini games that you can play and disasters that must be averted. All the while, you must tend to your baby. At times you must feed, burp, and rock the baby to sleep. All of this is done using the baby doll that comes with the game. Many of the other mini games are controlled by the nunchuck.

Babysitting Mama is obviously aimed at young girls which is lucky because I happen to have one of those. She loves Babysitting Mama. She happens to be an only child who likes to ask for a younger sibling. Now, she gets to have the experience of a new baby. She is a good little Mama too. She loves to burp the baby and she is very gentle.

Babysitting Mama is rated E for Everyone and I highly recommend it for all the little girls in your life.

Your wand is your weapon. You mast cast spells to protect yourself and attack against Dementors, Death Eaters, and Snatchers. You must create your own cover by casting spells. You are responsible for your own fate.

With use of the Wii and XBox 360 with Kinect, you have even more control over your game play. You must use your wn body to control the wand. It gives you more of an in-game experience that you cannot get with the other platforms.

I thoroughly enjoy playing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. It stays true to the movie which essentially stays true to the novel. I definitely recommend this game to anyone who loves Harry Potter as much as I do!

Freddi Fish and his friend Luther go on adventures together with lots of stories and games to play along the way. Freddi Fish specializes in vocabulary skills, counting skills, spelling, directions, and colors. This is a game that any parent would be happy to give their young child because it is fun, engaging, and educational.

Freddi Fish: ABC Under the Sea is rated E for everyone. However, it is most appropriate for the preschoolers; ages 3 and up.

I had the opportunity to give a copy of Freddi Fish: ABC Under the Sea to an adorable 3 1/2 year old, Mackenzie. Mackenzie had to borrow her sister’s Nintendo DS, but she was thrilled to have her very own game for the system. We played for quite awhile. She did extremely well with her letter and number recognition. It was easy to see how the repetition of the games would help her to learn spelling, directions, and vocabulary.

I would highly recommend Freddi Fish: ABC Under the Sea for any preschooler!

The Scooby gang is called in to solve a mystery about a strange girl in a swamp and her special brew. They must work through three different haunted locations to look for clues and play mini-games and puzzles in order to solve the case.

My daughter and I have played the full game. Yes, you can play co-op or single player. The whole game was rather quick with only about 10 hours of gameplay. However, it was a fun 10 hours where my daughter and I had a great time. Ultimately, the mystery was solved.

Galactic Taz Ball is being released on August 10, 2010 by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment exclusively for the Nintendo DS. If your child has a Nintendo DS then this is the perfect opportunity to introduce him or her to the Tazmanian Devil; the lovable whirlwind.

In Galactic Taz Ball, the player uses the dual screen and touchscreen controls to help Taz foil a plan by Marvin the Martian. Personally, I always liked Marvin the Martian, but Taz has a bigger fan base. Taz visits the Overworld and Underworld in his attempt to foil Marvin the Martian’s plans. There is exploration, platform challenges , and puzzle solving games. It is truly interactive.

This is a game that parents can enjoy with their children. Take the time to sit down with your child and learn how to use that Nintendo DS while playing Galactic Taz Ball. Your child will be thoroughly impressed with your ability to use technology as well as your knowledge of the characters in Galactic Taz Ball.

Well, we have about all the Backyard Sports Series and this one just adds to the fun.  My grandson’s Jordon and Angelo were so excited to be able to try this newest game from Backyard Sports and just love this one as they both have Nintendo DS’s and are able to play it anywhere which they love.  The graphics are great and you can choose what backyard you can play in and who you will go up against.  It has the different settings so Angelo who is seven can start with the easy setting and Jaden who is ten goes right for the harder version, but the end result is great.

I guess the bottom line is how much you like the Sims and what you take away from playing it.  Some people have negative reviews, but my daughter really liked this and I had fun playing it too.  I would suggest this to a friend to buy.

You run your restaurant and make food to keep up with the customer’s orders, mimicking chopping, stirring, and cutting with the pen. Some of the things you can make are steak, pizza, curry rice hamburgers and spaghetti. Each involves a different gesture with the pen and you must keep the customer happy meter full before time runs out. As you progress, the higher the level and more and more customers will come in, making you to multitask quickly. The waitress will keep you busy with tasks and situations. The down side is you have to help her out as her graphic takes up almost the entire screen and you can’t see what the customers are doing. Her tasks are different chores like wiping the table, adding on a calculator, sorting plates, cups, and silverware into the right bins, or guiding a delivery bike to a customer. I liked this game as I am an avid Chef’s World gamer on Face Book.

This was always a favorite of my children and now its just as popular with my grandchildren! I loved these books as they were always great for trips in the car!
