Book Review: When Darkness Comes by Alexandra Ivy
Who doesn’t love paranormal romance that deals with vampires? I sure as heck know I do. In this new series by Alexandra Ivy you get a new take on demons, witches, goddesses, vampires and werewolves. This story is about the chalice which is a female that houses the Phoenix which is a goddess. The goddess is protected by the “beast” in this case it is the delectable pirate styled vampire named Dante.
The main character Abby starts off as a little weak character wise but the author really does later do justice to her character developing her better and you become more endearing to her once you find out about her background and the trials thrown her way. You also get the new take on vampires which is amazing and truly an interesting idea.
Dante has been attracted to Abby since she came to work as an assistant for the Phoenix (she didn’t know she was working for her) and Abby who finds Dante delicious is still intent on rejecting him. Until something happens and she witnesses the death of the Phoenix. She and Dante are forced to go on the run, and during their crazy ordeals they of course run from the bad guys and into their passion for one another. Rrawr. It is truly delicious with a good amount of romance, as well as true character creation.
Abby has to deal with a lot and she truly does get support from Dante and even though at some points you want to kick him in the shin you can see his point of view and does his best to work within Abby’s skill set or lack there-of.
The book is good read and I can’t wait to check out the second in the series!
