Book Review: Three Times the Love Finding Answers and Hope for Our Triplets with AUTISM by Lynn and Randy Gaston

It is books like this that make you feel like angels have been sent down to help others in the same situation. This book was so heartfelt and written with such emotion you could feel it through the each turn of a page. I cried all through this book and then cheered as the heartbreak of Autism went through this family. The determination both parents have to make sure their boys have what they need to overcome this diagnosis is overwhelming. As I have mentioned before in previous Autism book reviews, my grandson Jordon has Autism, and it was a struggle, but we got the right school, teacher, and specialists. He is doing great, although he still has his moments, he has come a long way. Now, my daughter has a son who has Autism, it is a mild case, so I can’t begin to try to imagine three times that and all the different spectrum’s of autism! The wonderful thing about this book is, the way Lynn and Randy wrote from their struggles to become pregnant to birth and then the different changes Lynn started to see in each of her sons. The fact that they were taking photos of the boys on a regular time frame, she even started to see the differences in their faces and personalities. You just could feel her pain and sadness for her boys, but most important you felt her love. There is, also, each stage of the “game,” if you will, that all parents go through when they have an autistic child in the educational system. Lynn gives us a detailed description of what she did and what help is out there for all of us. On the back of the book is helpful information, books, websites and programs. She has done her homework for us, and I thank her with all my heart. The last sentence of the book made me cry and yell “YEAH!”, it says: “While we do not know what the future holds for our boys, we do know this: that we will be there with one arm urging them forward and the other ready to catch them if they fall.” What a wonderful book.
