Book review: Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Home: No-Nonsense Advice that Will Inspire You to CLEAN like the DICKENS ~ Thelma Meyer
Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Home is about teaching readers how to have a clean home that they can be proud of and doing it the very home-style way. Mrs. Meyer talks about her family (a husband and nine children) and how she became an expert on cleaning house and keeping up after her large family.
This book covers cleaning everything and by that I mean everything! From the stove top and microwave to the bathroom exhaust fan and bed mattresses. It is written in such a way that I found myself looking for things she may have left out. Very humorous, yet very informative. Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Home would make a great housewarming or bridal shower gift.
She covers the various types of cleaners and what everyday items you may have in your kitchen that can be safely used to clean and deodorize your home. Mrs. Meyer’s gives a sample of the time frame in which to do each household chose. She also covers daily, weekly, monthly and even every six months, then spring, fall and winter cleaning. She even covers the outdoors and your patio or deck, lawn furniture, and equipment.
This is the most information on cleaning I have had in one book that I can remember. Definitely a book I plan to read over and over again! I want to start my spring cleaning early now just to go through and follow all the steps Thelma does in the book. I have just the spot on my very clean book shelf for this book!
Rating:

This book gives short cuts and recommendations of products that make cleaning easier. For example, the “professional” spray bottles that make spraying and wiping up easier and most importantly… faster. I tend to be a scatter brain when I clean, going from one room to another and never quite finishing any one room. I felt that this book helped me become more organized.
