If you are bored with the usual run-of-the-mill mysteries of today then you will surely enjoy the Art Thief by Noah Charney!
The great loss of a beautiful art treasure gives way for the introduction to the intense and devious world of bidders, owners, police inspectors, art investigators and art treasure hunters. This tangled web compels the reader to follow the hunt for the missing art and a priceless painting which was whisked away by the best of art thieves. The chase of twists and turns makes this mystery fun to read and a real page-turner. I could barely put this book down.
The Art Thief will keep you guessing until the very end. On a personal note I must say this: “When art becomes a possession it loses the message and beauty as the artist intended”

Hello there.
Well, the book sounds like fun, and I will check it out.
However, I wanted to share my view about art possession, and perhaps offer food for thought ….
I make spiritual, healing paintings – works that are to help heal all that see it…
When I take a commission, I do it specifically for that person in mind. Not that I will paint ‘what they specifically want’ (otherwise they could do it themsleves).
So, from my point of view, art possession means that my works have landed in their intended hands.
Yes, true, making art is a personal journey also, and I enjoy this. However, I believe it is not the only value of art, any art. There is an additional meaning in being with the art, enjoying it and letting it help you heal, or learn & grow, or at least appreciate it.
